小兔彼得的表哥班傑明去找彼得玩，但是他看到彼得一臉可憐像，裹著一條紅圍巾坐著，就問彼得發生什麼事情，原來彼得在麥先生菜園裡弄丟藍夾克和鞋子，讓他很難過。所以班傑明就帶著彼得，趁著麥先生和麥太太出門的好時機，前去菜園拿回衣服和鞋子，但是運氣不好他們遇到了大貓，被困在籃子裡。正在無計可施的時候，還好老班傑明出來找兒子，他神氣地趕走了大貓，還提著班傑明的耳朵把他打了一頓，再把彼得也救出了籃子，大家這才一起平安地回家！
